Why I went Mac…
Apr 11th

I really got tired of Windows and Vista was the last straw.
So I’ve been reading about the Conficker virus and it got me thinking — “I’m glad I got a Mac.”
I’ve always loved Macs. The first one I used was when I was in first grade and I was motivated to finish my work quickly to just get to play Oregon Trail. That’s when I fell in love with the Apple logo and the computer.
However, slowly and surely, I started to fall for Windows. I remember using Windows 3.1 and playing solitaire and other corny little games on the computer. It’s where I also learned how to type ridiculously faster than most of my fellow students, and even typed my papers on the machine, rather than having mine written out like everyone else. I guess the best part was doing my research on Martin Luther King Jr. on my uncle’s old Hewlitt Packard machine. It was fun.
The thing was, when we went to the computer lab, they would be Macs and I always knew how to navigate through the computers since they were simple. Then I grew older and the Macs slowly disappeared in my life, favored heavily by the PCs and the Window’s controlled empire. I guess when my laptop had to be reformatted twice and when my desktop had to be cleaned up a few times was when I decided to make the switch. Combine that frustration with Windows Vista was created and it’s extremely slow OS and just clunky design that reminded me a little like Mac’s only created in the Evil Empire’s image, the decision was just too easy.
Only problem was money. I never could afford a Mac because they were pretty pricey. Then when I got my tax refund for the year 2008, I decided that a Mac was going to be the way to go.
Needless to say, I have been very happy with my Mac. Do I think one day, there will be viruses and spy ware for Macs? I wouldn’t doubt it, but now I’m feeling good about the purchase and returning to the computer company that helped me develop my computer literacy.
