Oh Kanye…

Kanye, Kanye, Kanye, you always alienate some people
I’m sorry for acting like a bitch at award’s shows. *Crowd laughs* It’s an award show. I didn’t kill anyone. — Kanye West on VH1 “Storytellers”
UPDATE: Kanye posted an apology on his blog. Check out the bottom of the post for the image. For the LA Times story go here:
Make no mistakes about this, everyone knows my ridiculous amount of fanboy love for Kanye West, his music and even his crazy ass antics.
His latest one — interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance at the 2009 Video Music Awards — is drawing a boatload of comments, “boycotts of his music” and a lot of comments being made.
What else is new? Kanye doing stuff that make people hate him, drop his music, etc is nothing that shouldn’t shock you. If it did, where have you been? Award shows + Kanye = some sort of controversy, and water cooler talk the next morning.
Swift and Kanye’s fan bases will cross at some point, and a divide will be drawn and mostly people will jump on Swift’s side and I don’t really want to bash them, other than this line — Odds are you didn’t like Kanye’s antics before, and this was the boiling point.
While it’s not right for Kanye to be doing this, remember folks, the VMAs are more about the moments rather than the awards. Kanye made Taylor Swift an interesting first VMA experience, giving her a moment that will be talked about for the next couple of days at least. Taylor Swift is now forever immortalized in famous VMA moments. It might be INFAMOUS, but still going to be talked about. Just don’t take it too seriously, that’s the thing about the awards shows.
It was Kanye, who in a “VIBE” magazine article said, “I want to make popular music, but I want less fans.” This might be his self-fulfilling prophecy, in ways to alienate the fans and weed out what he really wants. If so, good for him.
I’ll stick around with him because I do support him. I’m not that big of a Taylor Swift fan. I’m good with her in small doses, but still I’m going to let it slide, because it wouldn’t be a Kanye year without him doing something crazy would it? Boo him. Cheer him. He probably enjoys it.
There will always be guys like me, and my friend Tim Bella, who will support Kanye, and listen to his music. In the end, Kanye will still make good music with or without the Taylor Swift fans leaving Kanye’s ship. I laughed. Odds are Taylor will too at some point.

Keep or Delete — Taylor Swift “Fearless”
Apr 15th

This is part of a new post trend that will be discuss whether I keep music I have on my computer will stay or be deleted to ultimately make room for more music.
So yeah, I’m going to admit that. I like Taylor Swift’s music. I have no shame at this point. It’s a good album, and I will stick to it.
What exactly do I like about it? I enjoy its sound. It has an intriguing, country-pop feel that gets me into it. I’m usually a hip-hop, rock person because it fits my range of music, but Taylor Swift makes me come out of comfort zone and listen.
I swear, I almost didn’t give this album a try since I really only heard “Love Story” and over time it grew on me. I guess It was when I wanted to start deleting music off of my laptop, when I decided to listen to the whole thing to see where I stood on it while playing poker. Needless to say, it kept me calm and relaxed while listening to it. It’s ridiculously catchy, and I decided to keep the album on my computer.
Is it a CD for everyone? It depends. I like it because it’s different from the countless amounts of Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, TI, Linkin Park, Usher, Mario and other styles of music on my computer. It’s the only one labelled in the “country” genre and I prefer to keep it that way.
